The course is out of my financial reach. Is there a way I can still attend?

You are welcome to apply for a scholarship from our Yoga Vana scholarship fund. The fund is made possible by the generous donations of previous Yoga Vana students.

Our vision is for this fund to enable current and future leaders and change makers to heal themselves and to promote peace, physical and mental health, emotional resilience as well as environmental awareness in their communities by sharing the yogic tools with others.

A few limited partial scholarships are granted about 4-8 weeks before each course based on the personal situation and motivation expressed in the application. You can apply here.

Do you offer work study/work exchange programs for teacher training programs?

No, we do not.

We have a team of teachers that spent years pursuing their own studies to bring you these teachings. All are expert in their own subject and have a vast teaching experience.

We encourage you to make the commitment to study and delve deep into your practice and think of creative ways to engage support for your journey to teacher training.

Course Structure

I cannot get away for a month, can I take the training in modules?

One of the essential components of the Yoga Vana Teacher Training program is the deep immersion into your practice. The month-long commitment and shared experience is what makes this training so potent and special.

We do not offer it in modules and though we understand it can be difficult to get away for a month, we encourage you to view it as an essential part of the training.

Certification

Does participation in the training automatically confer certification as a teacher of Yoga Vana?

Generally speaking, if you commit to being present for every class session offered during the course, certification is highly likely. If you don’t show up for classes and fail the below assessments, you might not receive a diploma of certification at the time of graduation.

Assessment of participants is based on:
1. Regular attendance of all classes
2. Performance and attitude in asana, pranayama, bandha and kriya practice
3. Hatha Yoga teaching skills
4. Written daily summary of the main philosophy class and Hatha Yoga theory class
5. Written examination (3 hours) on the theory of Yoga and Vedanta philosophy

Participants should pass all different aspects of the course to be eligible for the course diploma. Unsuccessful students will have to repeat the entire course at regular cost to qualify for the certificate.

Certification

If I fail to get certified will I get a refund?

All fees for this training, including tuition and accommodation, are non-refundable 30 days before the program begins.

There is no refund if you leave the training early or fail the course certification.

Attendance

Can I bring my spouse / kids with me to the training?

The goal of the program is to produce qualified and inspiring yoga teachers who are able to draw on their own practice and personal discipline in imparting the yoga experience to others. The practice and especially the teaching of yoga demand a high degree of self-discipline, self-motivation and one-pointed focus.

For this purpose, we do not encourage having family members during the intense teacher training courses. There are other yoga holidays and retreats, where you may attend with your dear ones.

During the Course

Can I record the lectures and other sessions?

No, no audio or video recordings are permitted during the course. Photographs are permitted without flash.
