About This Teacher Training

At Yoga Vana, we provide an authentic learning environment for you to intensify your personal yoga practice and to deepen your understanding of the philosophy and science of yoga in the context of its place of origin, India. We support you throughout the course and beyond in developing the skills and confidence to be the teacher and guide you are called to be.

This 200 hour training will enable you to confidently introduce yoga to a beginner student in all aspects of the practice while honoring the Indian roots of yoga. You will be able to

  • speak about yoga as a life style, and address common misconceptions

  • introduce your students to the Primary Series and Classic Series of physical postures (asanas) in a gradual and systematic way

  • guide students in breathing and relaxation exercises (pranayama, savasana)

  • and lead guided meditations.

This Yoga Vana Teacher Training Course is more than just a certification course. Four weeks of intensive study and practice of yoga alongside a diverse group of fellow practitioners in an uplifting natural environment will fuel your personal evolution. Whether you intend to teach Yoga after the course or not, you will emerge from it awakened to a new way of being in your life and in the world.

Become a Certified Yoga Teacher

Yoga Vana is committed to providing high-quality yoga education which allows graduates of this teacher training program to teach yoga safely and skillfully with a deeper understanding of the subtle aspects of the practice. Yoga Vana Forest Academy is a Registered Yoga School with Yoga Alliance, USA.

Trainees are continuously assessed throughout the course at all levels. There will be a written exam at the end of the course to evaluate the understanding of the philosophy and theory of Yoga. Participants should pass all different aspects of the course to be eligible for the course diploma.

Assessment of participants is based on:
1. Regular attendance of all classes
2. Performance and attitude in asana, pranayama, bandha and kriya practice
3. Hatha Yoga teaching skills
4. Written daily summary of the main philosophy class and Hatha Yoga theory class
5. Written examination (3 hours) on the theory of Yoga and Vedanta philosophy

Unsuccessful students will have to repeat the entire course at regular cost to qualify for the certificate.

Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive the “Instructor of Yoga” certificate by Yoga Vana Forest Academy, India. This course fulfills the requirements for Yoga Alliance RYT-200 certification.

Is This Course For Me?

This training is open to anyone who is interested in deepening their knowledge and practice of yoga - independent of age, gender, religious beliefs, nationality, physical ability and previous experience with yoga.

Four weeks of intensive practice in a peaceful, silent environment have a transformative effect on your life even if your primary purpose is not to teach yoga to others after completion of this course.
